OSU finishes in a businesslike fashion

Even if you are casual fan of college football, you have to be impressed with the play of the Ohio State Buckeyes the last few weeks.
For those oblivious to what I’m discussing, the Buckeyes have run off five straight wins in quality fashion. In fact during the past few weeks, Ohio State has scored 40 points in four consecutive games and compiled 35 or more points in the last five games. The biggest development has been in the improvement of the team on all levels: offense, special teams and defense.
Okay, okay, I know you might be thinking the defense’s performance is no big deal because many consider Ohio State to have one of the best linebacker corps and defensive line units in the country.
The play of the offense and special teams has been improved quite a bit, which has allowed the Buckeyes to become a better overall team by performing on a level that was expected earlier in the year by many.
I might have to agree that Ohio State (8-2) could be the best two-loss team in the country. I am quite aware that Notre Dame has two losses and came within a few seconds and a push in the back by tailback Reggie Bush of defeating top ranked Southern Cal, but they also lost to a Michigan State team that has faded fast in the past few weeks.
Perhaps the Ohio State coaches should tell their players that every game is senior day, after watching the Buckeyes dismantle the Northwestern Wildcats and its high powered offense recently 48-7.
