Democrats continue their domination of the Columbus City Council as voters signaled that they were satisfied with the incumbents, who all won reelection by a wide margin.
Maryellen O'Shaughnessy, Kevin Boyce, and Mary Jo Hudson were re-elected to their council seats over Republican newcomers.
Kevin L. Boyce, 34, has been on the Columbus City Council since 2001. In addition to his council duties, he is senior program officer for the Knowledge Work Foundation/Project GRAD. He received 23 percent of the winning vote and says that continuing programs that bring jobs to the city is on all the council members' agenda.
"The three basic areas we're focusing on is job creation, neighborhood safety, and maintaining the city's budget," Boyce told the Columbus Post during a celebration at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Columbus.
